The Executive Management Committee (EMC) forms the backbone of our on-the-ground activities. The committee is a voluntary group of 25 prominent Chiang Mai residents who are dedicated to identifying appropriate and deserving individuals and partner organizations and formulating proposals to submit to the Board of Directors for funding. Their integration with the community and networks of local contacts has proven extraordinarily helpful in the selection, execution and implementation of the Foundation’s activities. The Committee also assists with the administrative planning of projects, and, through personal visits and correspondence, assures strict monitoring and evaluation standards for projects after they have been funded.
Within this Committee, a core group of six people have emerged who are especially active and willing to give significant amounts of time to our projects. The participation of members of the larger group enables us to draw from a wide and varied knowledge base and form subcommittees dedicated to specific tasks. Although EMC members are volunteers, they have a time-limited membership. The group is chaired by Ajarn Anchalee Singhanetra-Renard. Ajarn Anchalee exercises control with a delicate but firm hand and dedicates extraordinary amounts of time and effort to support the Foundation. She works closely with the secretariat, in a supervising capacity, and participates in meetings of the Board of Directors.
We are extraordinarily grateful to our Executive Management Committee for their dedication and hard work in the establishment and running of the Foundation.
